  1. Why is Miranda being referred to as “Sister Andreason”?
    Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints typically refer to one another by the titles of “Brother” and “Sister.” Male missionaries are addressed as “Elder,” and female missionaries as “Sister.” 
  2. How long will Sister Andreason be gone?
    Sister Andreason is expected to serve for a period of 18 months. She will enter the Provo Missionary Training Center on September 25th, 2013 and is expected to return home in March 2015. 
  3. Did Sister Andreason choose specifically to go to Houston? 
    Full-time Mormon missionaries are assigned to particular locations by the leadership of the LDS Church. They do not get to personally select where they will serve. 
  4. Is serving a mission a requirement for members of the LDS Church (Mormons)?No, serving a mission is not required. Individuals make the voluntary decision to serve and share the gospel with others.
